La Siesta Resort - Mile Marker 80.5 U.S. Highway 1 - Islamorada Florida
Every now and then you just seem to stumble upon a hidden gem. We drove up and down Highway 1 for two and a half hours one night just looking for a clean, reasonably priced place to lay our heads. It was dark when we finally pulled into La Siesta. A quick look at the room showed us that it was not only clean, but impeccably maintained and comfortable. Hotel Punta Colorodo - East Cape - Mexico (Filmed in standard definition, but worth a look!)
A fishermans paradise located on the Sea of Cortez. Imagine catching rooster fish only feet from your breakfast table or taking a short Panga ride for Striped Marlin. Punta Coloroda is that place. Loggerhead Marinelife Center - 14200 U.S. Highway 1 - Juno Beach - Florida
A comprehensive sea turtle rehabilitation facility and museum complete with its own staff of doctors and nurses. Loggerhead is a state of the art facility featuring an operating and emergency room just for sea turtles. It's a fascinating place to visit and there are always new patients with new stories. The staff is welcoming and happy to give tours to visitors of all ages.
